Over the last few weeks I have been getting calls from my friends travelling abroad and being asked if the Chromebook is a good option for them.
Rather than answering everyone individually I have decided to put a post here and here is what I feel of a Chromebook.
Chromebook is basically a Web browser based, web dependent netbook / computer which doesnt have a hard disk but comes with a limited flash drive.
As more and more of us are using online storage services for our data, Google Drive is perfect solution to this. Microsoft office can be replaced by Google docs. Most of the other work is anyways done online now a days so chrome browser would make it happen.
So if that is the extent of what you do with a your computer then the Chromebook is a good option but if there is more that you do with it then read on.
Most of these Chromebooks come with 16 GB of flash storage and have a SD card for you to add to the storage, but you cant really download heavy files to it like you can to a laptop.
If you intend to use it as a Traditional Laptop then Chromebook is not for you, however if you don't mind carrying an external storage drive then you could download all your additional files to it and run using the USB ports.
I don't see this making to any corporate's as the ability to use an email program for Microsoft exchange is not there.
Here is a nice video which would also help you make your choice whether the Chromebook is really for you.
All the best in making that decision and Bye for now.
